In organising the events GODC cooperates closely with the lead partners of the Eusair Facility Point project which supports the coordination and implementation of EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

At yesterday’s official opening event mag. Nina Seljak, Director of the European Territorial Cooperation and Financial Mechanism Office at GODC, underlined that EUSAIR is an important foundation for Slovenia in building friendships, relations and trust among the countries in the region.

The numerous events that took place online due to the pandemic address the topical issues which represent the main priorities of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region, including Post-COVID revival of Europe’s tourism, green infrastructure planning that would enhance Europe’s resilience in the field of food production, contribution of the region to the “Smart EU” by networking of those responsible for the development of Slovenia’s Smart Specialisation Strategy, and implementation of European Green Deal.

Mediterranean Coast and Macro-regional Strategies Week takes place from 14 to 25 September 2020 (programme).
