Government adopts Report on Cohesion Policy Implementation in Q2 2020

Slovenian Government has submitted the Report on the Implementation of EU Cohesion Policy for the Investment for Growth and Jobs Goal in the Second Quarter of 2020 to the National Assembly.

Altogether 526 funding decisions for projects, programmes or calls for proposals worth a total of EUR 2.78 billion were issued between January 2014 and end of June 2020. Over EUR 1.12 billion of this funding was allocated to cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija, EUR 813 million was earmarked for cohesion region Zahodna Slovenija, while the Cohesion Fund allocation for the whole of Slovenia amounted to a total of EUR 844 million.

Following the publication of the calls for proposals by the relevant line ministries, projects or programmes worth a total of EUR 2.24 billion were being implemented as at end-June 2020, which accounted for 73% of the funding made available to projects and programmes. Additionally, payments out of the national budget totalling EUR 1.21 billion (including financial instruments) were made to the beneficiaries, which accounted for 39% of the country's national envelope. By the end of June 2020 and after certifying the expenditure incurred, Slovenia sent payment applications worth a total of EUR 1.13 billion to the European Commission.  

The Government has also adopted the Report on the Implementation of the Action Plan to Accelerate Spending under the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy in the Period 2014-2020.
