In his address, the State Secretary outlined arguments in favour of enhanced economic cooperation between Slovenia and Jordan, which include a favourable strategic location and friendly relations in the region, as well as an open market economy. The two countries also foster enhanced cooperation between their ports, in Koper and Aqaba, which are their windows to the world. Slovenia presented itself as a green, creative and smart destination, which Jordanian businesspeople will be able to experience themselves by visiting successful Slovenian companies. As to creativity, the State Secretary mentioned this year’s design achievement by the company Plastika Skaza, which received the prestigious Red Dot Award. He invited Jordanian representatives to participate in Creative Forum Ljubljana scheduled for this November.

The three-day visit by the Jordanian business delegation to Slovenia (7–9 October 2019), organised by SPIRIT, will also include a meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, and the remaining two days will be spent on a tour of selected Slovenian companies: Gorenje, Plastika Skaza, Podkrižnik, Kozmetika Afrodita and Rogaška Slatina.
