State Secretary Dobran Božič has received a business delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The visit in Slovenia of this first major government and business delegation in nineteen years will last until 3 October.

The visit is part of the Slovenian strategy for diversification of foreign trade and the search for new markets. Saudi Arabia is Slovenia’s largest trading partner in the Gulf, with bilateral trade steadily increasing, and Slovenia is endeavouring to strengthen cooperation also in services and investment.

At the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, the delegation signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two chambers and participated in the Business Forum with B2B talks. The business delegation consists of nineteen members, nine of whom are representatives of Slovenian companies.

In the coming days, the delegation will visit the Ministry of the Economy, the SPIRIT agency and the Enterprise Fund, where they will be presented with investment opportunities in Slovenia. Further talks on opportunities for cooperation in transport and logistics will be held at the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Port of Koper and Jože Pučnik Airport. The delegation will also visit high-tech companies such as Roboticsx and ABC Accelerator.
