Minister Bekir Pakdemirli is in Slovenia at the invitation of the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Food, Aleksandra Pivec. This is the very first visit by a Turkish agriculture minister to Slovenia. The talks between the Slovenian and Turkish ministers were a follow-up to the talks launched on the occasion of Minister Pivec's visit to the 14th Agroexpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair held in Izmir in February this year. The two ministers noted that the cooperation in agriculture between the two countries is already exemplary, but their talks also focused on more concrete opportunities for future cooperation in agriculture, forestry and food processing, and their participation in international fairs.

The ministers also attended the signing of a document laying down the guidelines for future cooperation between Slovenia and Turkey as part of the Slovenian-Turkish Steering Committee for Agriculture and Forestry.
