Ministry of Public Administration represented at the 6th International Conference on Big Data Analysis and Data Mining

The 6th International Conference on Big Data Analysis and Data Mining is being held on the 25th and 26th of July in London. On the first day, dr. Kern Pipan from the IT Directorate of the Ministry of Public Administration gave a successful presentation entitled "Supporting improvements in decision making process using big data analytics in the Ministry of Public Administration of Republic Slovenia". The presentation aroused much attention, including a number of questions regarding the implementation, benefits and future challenges.

The conference draws international participation, experts and academics from reputable universities such as Stanford, Cambridge, Nottingham, with 80 participants from all over the world (India, China, USA, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Israel, South Africa, Mexico, Taiwan, Iran, Ghana, Spain, Poland, Egypt, Brazil). This year, the organisers staged a joint event for the first time and brought together various content, both in terms of technology and data processing methodology as well as in terms of various topics.  Examples of good practices and the benefits of data analytics have been highlighted in various spheres, especially in diagnosis and prognosis in oncology and orthopaedics, where the use of advanced analytics substantially increases the success rate of treatment and reduces costs.
