In recent years, the European Research Area has introduced important new policy directions for the development of research careers. A key milestone is the Council Recommendation on a European framework to attract and retain research, innovation and entrepreneurial talents, which provides concrete guidelines for improving working conditions, career paths and the attractiveness of research careers in Europe.
The main challenge now is to effectively translate these policy directions into national systems and institutional practices.
Purpose of the event
The event will:
- present new European policies and instruments shaping research careers,
- provide an overview of approaches implemented in other countries,
- support the exchange of views on the further development of national measures and European guidelines.
The discussion outcomes will contribute to:
- the development of national approaches in Slovenia under the Resolution on the Slovenian Scientific Research and Innovation Strategy 2030 (ReZrIS30) (Objective 3),
- the work of the European Research Area Standing Committee on Careers Working Groups.
Programme
The programme includes:
- an overview of the European framework for research careers and key instruments,
- presentations of national implementation approaches,
- a discussion on needs, opportunities and challenges in the Slovenian context.
The event will bring together representatives of the European Commission, European Union Member States, and European expert and stakeholder organisations. It will be held in English.
