MED9 Leaders’ Summit

When to
Where Portorož, Slovenia
Prime Minister Robert Golob will host the MED9 leaders and invited high-level guests, including the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

The summit discussions will be devoted to exchanging views on current European topics and challenges in the region, focusing primarily on strengthening the competitiveness of the economy and resolving the situation in the Middle East, particularly the intolerable conditions in Gaza.

Media representatives will need accreditation passes in order to attend the summit. You can register at EU MED 9 Summit -Media registration by no later than 15:00 on Thursday, 16 October 2025. The accreditation approval is subject to security clearance by the Police. Details about the collection of accreditations and other logistic information will be provided later.

    In 2025, Slovenia holds the Presidency of the MED9 Group, an informal group of nine like-minded Mediterranean EU Member States. During its Presidency, Slovenia will host the MED9 Heads of State Summit and several ministerial-level meetings.
