Working Dinner of the Ministers for Digitalisation of the MED9 Countries

Minister of Digital Transformation Ksenija Klampfer, will chair a working dinner of the Ministers for Digitalisation of the MED9 countries – the group of nine Mediterranean EU member states (Cyprus, France, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain, and Slovenia).

The event will be held under the Slovenian Presidency of the MED9 and will be a key opportunity to strengthen cooperation among countries in the field of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and new technologies. The main topic of the dinner will be the role of these technologies in addressing the most significant challenges in the region, such as climate change, food security, migration, cybersecurity, and accelerating sustainable development.

On this occasion, the Slovenian delegation will present a pilot project for the systematic review and connection of existing and planned artificial intelligence and digital technology projects in the public sector of the MED9 countries. The project offers an opportunity to enhance the exchange of best practices, promote joint initiatives, and strengthen the digital resilience and competitiveness of the region.

The dinner will also be dedicated to an in-depth discussion on the role of the European Commission in supporting such efforts and exploring how new technologies can contribute to even closer cross-border cooperation and stakeholder integration in the digital ecosystem.

    In 2025, Slovenia holds the Presidency of the MED9 Group, an informal group of nine like-minded Mediterranean EU Member States. During its Presidency, Slovenia will host the MED9 Heads of State Summit and several ministerial-level meetings.
