Jasmina Cibic’s film The Gift at the Barbican in London

We are delighted to invite you to the screening of the Film London Jarman Award winner Jasmina Cibic’s film The Gift that will be followed by a discussion with the artist and writers Owen Hatherley and Lucy Reynolds.

The film explores the relationship between political gifting and the development of European identity, addressing the role of culture as a Trojan horse for political interests.

Screening will be followed by a drinks reception hosted in the cinema lobby to celebrate the publication of Stagecraft, a new monograph on Cibic’s work published by MAC Lyon. Attendees will receive a specially commissioned gift from the artist, alongside an essay by Vid Simoniti.
