Working Group on Cybersecurity in Nuclear Facilities

Due to cyber-attacks on some nuclear facilities worldwide, Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration established the Working Group on Cybersecurity in Nuclear Facilities in 2015, which it also chairs.

The group is led by the Cybersecurity Division at the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration and consists of members from key stakeholders in the nuclear sector in Slovenia. Because the field of cybersecurity is very dynamic, the composition of the group changes. The latest composition of the group includes representatives from the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, the Government Information Security Office, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the Police, the Ministry of Public Administration, the Slovenian Computer Emergency Response Team (SI-CERT), and the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration.

The main tasks of the group are:

  • reviewing the current state in the field of cybersecurity,
  • exchanging information, knowledge, experiences, and best practices,
  • recommending proposals for amending legislation,
  • recommendations for raising the level of cybersecurity,
  • assistance in responding to incidents, and
  • participation in organizing and conducting exercises.
