  • 346th correspondence session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today's correspondence session, the Government adopted guidelines for the adoption of economic measures in relation to the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and instructed two ministries to take all necessary steps to prepare a proposal for measures. It also provided additional material assistance to the Palestinian civilian population affected by the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas.

    The floods that hit Slovenia in August 2023 had numerous consequences, ranging from major material damage to entirely personal losses. The worst natural disaster in the history of independent Slovenia affected almost two-thirds of the country's territory.

    163th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At the session, the Government adopted a proposal for the Employee Ownership Cooperative Act, which enables a stable and systemically sustainable model of transferring ownership to employees, bringing positive effects for employers, employees and the economy. It also issued new amendments to the Decree on the compulsory health insurance service programme, the capacities required for its implementation and the amount of funding for services for 2025.

    At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Starting Points for the Adoption of Measures against Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli Minister of National Security, and Bezalel Smotrich, Israeli Minister of Finance and Defense. It also approved the proposal for the Tax on Gains from the Disposal of Crypto Assets Act, the proposal for an amendment to the Tax on Gains from the Disposal of Derivative Financial Instruments Act, an amendment to the Corporate Income Tax Act, and a draft amendment to the Act on the Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters.

Furthermore, it approved the Report on the Implementation of the Act Regulating Temporary Measures to Improve Personnel and Working Conditions and the Capacities of Providers of Social Assistance and Long-Term Care Services.

    159th Regular Session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today’s session, the Government adopted the draft Healthcare Digitalisation Act, aimed at comprehensively regulating the processing of personal data in healthcare and establishing more efficient and secure data exchange. It also confirmed the draft Animal Health Act and discussed several agriculture-related laws, which will be formally adopted in the coming days through a correspondence session.

    157th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    The Government adopted a draft amendment to the Spatial Management Act and discussed a draft amendment to the Labour Market Regulation Act, which is expected to be adopted by the Government in the coming days. The Government issued the Decree on setting prices for certain petroleum products, on the basis of which fuel prices on motorways will no longer be higher than elsewhere in the country. The Government also adopted a letter of intent for the construction of a cable car between Bovec and Kanin.

    At today's session, the Government adopted the proposed Climate Act, a development opportunity for Slovenia, its people, and businesses. It approved the proposed amendments to the Construction Act, adapting the issuing of permits to the needs of modern times. The Government also took note of the planned signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the State of Palestine on the development of relations between the two countries.

    155th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today's session, the Government adopted the proposed new amendments to the Kindergartens Act and to the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, and approved the draft Resolution on the overall long-term programme for the development and equipping of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2040. It also initiated a discussion on the proposed new amendments to the Labour Market Regulation Act, which will continue after the amendments have been discussed by the Economic and Social Council.

    154th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today’s session, the Government adopted the proposed new amendments to the Parental Protection and Family Benefits Act, the Forest Act, the Insurance Act and the Public Passenger Transport Management Act. It also adopted the draft Resolution on the National Programme of Sport of the Republic of Slovenia 2026–2035 and took note of the reasons for the extension of the temporary reintroduction of border controls at the internal Schengen borders with Croatia and Hungary.

    153rd regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today's session, the Government adopted a series of proposals relating to judicial legislation. It approved the new amendments to the General Administrative Procedure Act, a proposal for the Act Regulating the Financing and Promotion of the Construction of Public Rental Housing, and proposals for new amendments to the Long-Term Care Act and the Housing Act. It also initiated the procedure for drafting the 2026 and 2027 budgets.

    152nd Regular Session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today’s session, the Government approved the proposed changes to the pension reform and was briefed on the current defence and security policy. It also adopted the draft Act on the Publication of Acts in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, the draft Act on School Inspection, the draft amendment to the Primary School Act, and issued a new flood regulation introducing the concept of flood and erosion resilience.

    At today's press conference, "Public Sector in Numbers", the Minister of Public Administration, Franc Props, the Minister of Finance, Klemen Boštjančič, and the Director General of the Public Sector Directorate at the Ministry of Public Administration, Peter Pogačar, emphasised that public employees are key to the functioning of society, which is why the wage system reform ensures the proper evaluation of their work performance and a stimulating working environment.
