  • Partnership Agreement between Slovenia and the European Commission

    Minister for Development and European Cohesion Policy, dr. Alexander Jevšek, and European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, signed a partnership agreement between the Republic of Slovenia and the European Commission in Ljubljana. With the approval and signing of the agreement, Slovenia has opened the way to EUR 3.26 billion of European funds in the future programme period.

    At the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the first session of the Working Group for Local Self-Government took place, consisting of the leadership representatives of all three representative municipal associations in addition to Dr Aleksander Jevšek, the Minister of Development and European Cohesion Policy, and Sanja Ajanović Hovnik, the Minister of Public Administration. The main topic of today’s session was the preparation of strategic documents for drawing European funds in the 2021–2027 period.

    This year's edition of the Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week, which is organized around the theme ''A healthy sea for a safer future'', kicked off this week in Izola. The multi-day event puts spotlight on the importance of the sea and its hinterland for future development. State Secretary at the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, mag. Marko Koprivc, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony, highlighting the importance of working together for sustainable development, and the unique role of macro-regions as platforms that facilitate collaboration.

  • Commission adopts Partnership Agreement with Slovenia

    Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira announced yesterday that the European Commission adopted the Partnership Agreement with Slovenia for the period 2021-2027. Slovenia will receive EUR 3.26 billion for Cohesion Policy investments to support the sustainable development of its economy.

    Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the call for proposals Work integrated learning for students to gain practical experience and knowledge 2022/2023. The call for proposals will promote flexible forms of learning and support career orientation.

  • Velenje secures EU funding to overhaul its bus stops

    Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project ITI Velenje Refurbishment of bus stops and cycle shelters. The project aims to foster urban mobility and contribute to improvement of urban air quality. It is supported by the European Union with over EUR 180,000 coming from the European Regional Development Fund.

  • Commission approves disbursement of EUR 277 million under React-EU

    European Commission has approved the proposed amendments to Slovenia’s Operational Programme 2014-2020. The approval comes after 18 months of joint activities of the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy (GODC) and line ministries related to the programming of the funding from the React-EU initiative.

  • EU funding for the renovation of URI Soča and the Novo mesto General Hospital

    Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project COVID-19 – Energy-saving renovation of the URI Soča facilities Orhideja and Vrtnica, and the project Energy-saving renovation of two buildings of the Novo mesto General Hospital (Mostek and Kamen). Both projects will contribute to improving patient experience and staff work environment.

  • EU funding for energy renovation of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Novo mesto General Hospital

    Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for energy renovation of the building of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Novo mesto General Hospital. Thermal insulation of the facility’s external walls and roof, upgrade of the ventilation system and lighting, and replacement of the facility’s windows and doors will be carried out with support from the Cohesion Fund.

  • State Secretary Kirbiš Rojs takes part in a working visit to the southern part of the Osrednjeslovenska region

    As part of a working visit of the members of the Government to the southern part of the Osrednjeslovenska region on 1 April 2022, the State Secretary at the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy attended a working meeting and a working lunch, and participated in a public debate that brought together members of the government, local authorities and regional development players.

  • EU funding for pedestrian and cycle zones in Kranj

    Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project ITI KR KP between the Gosposvetska ulica street and the Bleiweisova cesta street.

  • Slovenia’s Sustainable Smart Specialisation Strategy S5 upgraded and published

    On 23 December 2021, the core group of State Secretaries discussed and approved the draft of the upgraded Smart Specialisation Strategy. Interested stakeholders and opinion givers were then invited to submit their proposals, questions and positions regarding the document by 2 February 2022.

    State Secretary mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs and representatives of the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy today attended the fourth regular meeting of the Development Council of the Vzhodna Slovenija cohesion region dedicated to the programming period 2021-2027. The meeting was held in the Youth Cultural Centre in Slovenj Gradec.
