Joint Statement by Slovenia and the Kingdom of Spain on the anniversary of Palestine's recognition
At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister Robert Golob visited Madrid today. On the occasion of the anniversary of Palestine’s recognition, Prime Minister Golob and Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez issued a joint statement, in which they called, among other things, for an immediate end to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, the respect for international law, and urged Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government to stop the massacre in Gaza.

Forum of Slovenian-Ukrainian Cooperation for recovery and rebuilding in Lviv
The Forum of Slovenian-Ukrainian cooperation: Strengthening Partnership for Recovery and Rebuilding is taking place on 28–30 May in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, as part of the "U-LEAD with Europe" programme. The Forum brings together mayors and representatives of local governments, as well as political representatives and development experts from both countries.

155th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today's session, the Government adopted the proposed new amendments to the Kindergartens Act and to the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, and approved the draft Resolution on the overall long-term programme for the development and equipping of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2040. It also initiated a discussion on the proposed new amendments to the Labour Market Regulation Act, which will continue after the amendments have been discussed by the Economic and Social Council.

Joint Statement of Spain, Ireland, Slovenia and Norway: A renewed commitment for the implementation of the two State solution
One year after the official recognition of the State of Palestine by Ireland, Norway, Slovenia and Spain, in the framework of the ‘Madrid+’ Group of the meeting, we have met to renew and reinforce the international commitment for the implementation of the two-State solution and to the principle that only a viable, contiguous Palestinian State, with internationally recognised borders, comprised of Gaza and the West Bank and with East Jerusalem as its capital, can fully satisfy the legitimate national aspirations and the needs of peace and security of both the people of Palestine and Israel.

The European Commission today welcomed the third proposal to amend of the Slovenian Recovery and Resilience Plan. The amendment to the plan also needs to be approved by the Council of the European Union.

Minister Fajon visited Slovakia for the first time and shared Slovenia's experiences on the UN Security Council
During her visit, Minister Fajon held talks with Minister Juraj Blanár, focusing primarily on opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation and the need for EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, as well as accelerating the enlargement process. Current international issues and Slovenia's experience as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council were also discussed.

State Secretary Štucin at General Affairs Council meeting in Brussels
State Secretary Marko Štucin participated in the General Affairs Council (GAC) meeting. European Foreign Affairs Ministers discussed the agenda for the European Council meeting in June and the proposal of including Catalan, Basque and Galician in the regulation governing the EU's language regime. The Council also held a hearing with Hungary regarding its adherence to the EU’s fundamental values, as well as the annual country-specific discussion on rule of law, covering Slovakia, Finland, Sweden and Belgium.

State Secretary Gabrič participates in EU Development Ministers meeting on future financing for development
State Secretary Dr Melita Gabrič attended the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in its Development configuration, focusing on financing for development, EU-Africa relations and the EU's external action post-2027. She called highlighted a joint letter by 16 EU Member States addressed to the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, calling for an enhanced role for SMEs within the Global Gateway strategy.
