Our partnership with the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA team of Slovenian superstar Luka Dončić, brings increased recognition to Slovenia, its exceptional individuals and achievements, and its economy and tourism. A business conference will create excellent opportunities for cooperation between Slovenian and American companies.

Due to the exceptional talents of our young star, the Dallas Mavericks have developed a special offer for partnering with Slovenia, which presents numerous opportunities. The team has exclusively authorised the company Sport Media Focus to form partnerships on its behalf with the Government Communication Office, the Slovenian Tourist Board, the SPIRIT agency (a public agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship, internationalisation, foreign investment and technology) and Turizem Ljubljana in order to carry out promotional activities in relation to the game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets on 11 March 2020, and other team activities.

The partnership also ensures the promotion of and exposure for Slovenia’s national brand “I feel Slovenia” at 10 NBA home games in the 2019/2020 season and at 10 NBA home games in the 2020/2021 season, the presentation of Slovenia as a country and as a tourist destination during halftime at an NBA game, promotional exhibition space and the conducting of promotional activities by the partners at the event itself.

The primary objective of the partnership with the Mavericks is to increase Slovenia’s recognition and promote the “I feel Slovenia” national brand, and to present the country, its uniqueness, nicheness, and economic, investment and tourism opportunities.

The partnership provides further evidence that when shared objectives appear, Slovenia knows how to present itself in a coordinated manner and to connect with partners, such as AmCham Slovenia, that can help us make targeted and specific approaches to American companies. The business conference to be held on 12 March 2020 in Texas, which would have the world’s 10th-largest GDP if it were an independent country, will create unique opportunities for cooperation between Slovenian and American companies.
