The EU Delegation to the United States has opened the first of three calls for applications to the Transatlantic Rising Stars Project, an EU-funded cross-cultural initiative which fosters cultural links and creative collaboration between Europe and the United States.

On October 20, 2025 the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United States, Iztok Mirošič, together with the European-American Chamber of Commerce in New York (EACCNY), Nikolina Prah, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia, and Primož Dolenc, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, organized a Slovenian event for New York financial and banking institutions.

Ambassador Iztok Mirošič attended the Kids Euro Fest festival on October 18, 2025, which was organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the United States together with its member states. In addition to Slovenia and the EU Delegation to the United States, the festival was attended by 11 other EU member states and Ukraine.

Between September 25 and 27, 2025 Ambassador Iztok Mirošič, together with the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, visited Slovenians living and working in Cleveland, Ohio.

On September 24, 2025 Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United States Iztok Mirošič hosted a reception for Slovenian community at St. Cyril’s Slovenian Church in Manhattan , Nataša Pirc Musar on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly

Ambassador Iztok Mirošič attended the Forum of Digital Ambassadors: Dialogue 2025 on the Future of Digital Governance in New York on September 23 2025.

Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United states of America Iztok Mirošič alongside other European Union Ambassadors visited Richmond, Virginia, where they met with Mayor Avulo, Governor Glenn Youngkin and Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears. Discussions focused on the political future of Virginia, gubernatorial election in November and opportunities to strengthen cooperation.

Ambassador Iztok Mirošič hosted an evening with the astronauts, featuring NASA crew members from Expedition 72 at the Embassy of Slovenia in Washington D.C. on September 17, 2025, in collaboration with Space Foundation. Part of the crew was also Sunita Williams, astronaut of Slovenian-Indian heritage from Ohio, who regularly maintains her connections with Slovenia.

On July 23, 2025 a ceremonial event took place at the Presidential Palace in Panama City, where Ambassador Mirošič presented the letter of credence from the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar to the President of Panama José Raúl Mulino.

Ambassador Iztok Mirošič, Plenipotentiary Representative of Slovenia to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), took part in the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government, held on 6 July 2025 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

During the 4th of July Independence Day celebrations in Washington D.C. Ambassador Iztok Mirošič had the opportunity to meet with the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. They briefly spoke about future cooperation and collaboration between Slovenia and the United States of America.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in the United States hosted the ceremonial opening of the first Slovenian School for Learning the Slovenian Language for children in the DMV region (D.C.–Maryland–Virginia).

Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United States, Iztok Mirošič, sat down with Diplomatic Connections journalist James A. Winship for an in-depth interview featured in the magazine’s May/June issue.

Ambassador Iztok Mirošič met with the U.S. Acting Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security, Brent T. Christensen at the Slovenian Embassy on June 10th. Their discussion mainly focused on the bilateral cooperation between Slovenia and the United States.

On June 11, 2025 Ambassador Mirošič met with Congressman Richard Hudson (NC). They had a great conversation regarding the future political and economic cooperation between Slovenia and the United States, particularly on science and technology cooperation.

On June 9, 2025 Ambassador Mirošič met with the congressman Joe Wilson to discuss strengthening U.S.–Slovenia relations. They exchanged views on key areas of cooperation, including trade and security.

On June 9, 2025 Ambassador Iztok Mirošič attended the roundtable on evolving economic and political perspectives on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), hosted by The Heritage Foundation.

Ambassador Mirošič hosted the 34th Statehood Day of the Republic of Slovenia & Slovenian Armed Forces Day at the Slovenian Embassy in Washington on June 4, 2025.

Rector of the Brezje Basilica, Fr. Dr. Robert Bahčič visited the Embassy of Slovenia in Washington D.C. on June 3rd 2025, where he met with Ambassador of Slovenia to the United States, Iztok Mirošič. They discussed the importance of preserving spiritual and cultural heritage of the Slovenian community in the United states of America.

Slovenian bee diplomacy continues to implement projects that promote social and environmental resilience. This year, Slovenian diplomatic missions and consular posts will once again carry out more than 30 projects worldwide in cooperation with local partners.
