The strategy aims to introduce strategic and comprehensive human resource management, utilise the potential of public employees effectively, and create an attractive work environment with a development-oriented organisational culture. Its adoption forms part of the public administration reform project under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).

National Assembly adopts the revised Civil Servants Act
At today's extraordinary session, members of parliament approved the proposal of the new Civil Servants Act (ZJU-1). The Act focuses on enhancing the competence and independence of public employees while increasing flexibility in human resource management within public administration. The most important new development is the establishment of the Human Resources Centre.

Temporary control on internal borders with Croatia and Hungary prolonged until 21 June 2025
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued the Ordinance on the temporary reintroduction of controls on the internal borders of the Republic of Slovenia with the Republic of Croatia and Hungary at its meeting on 18 December 2024. The ordinance enters into force on 22 December 2024, prolonging temporary controls on the internal borders of the Republic of Slovenia with the Republic of Croatia and Hungary for another six months, up to and including 21 June 2025.

The Government and public sector trade unions sign documents implementing salary reform
15 November 2024 – The Ministers of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and representatives of the representative trade unions of the public sector today signed the key documents necessary for introducing the reformed public sector salary system on 1 January 2025.
