The meeting between Prime Minister Robert Golob and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, focused mainly on presenting the current situation in Gaza and the West Bank.

At today's session, the government focused on the implementation of the advertising campaign 'Public Information and Alarm System – SI ALARM', which aims to improve the protection of people and property in the event of natural and other disasters. The Government also adopted the proposal for the Act on the Implementation of the EU Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act.

Dear citizens, dear people of Prekmurje, dear Slovenians at home and abroad, when a wave of joy swept across the Mura River on 17 August 1919, a long period of separation came to an end. Prekmurje returned home, into the embrace of its people.

At the initiative of Prime Minister Robert Golob, the Government today approved a decision to provide additional humanitarian aid to the Palestinian civilian population. The security and humanitarian situation in Gaza is becoming increasingly untenable and continues to deteriorate rapidly.

At today's correspondence session, the Government adopted guidelines for the adoption of economic measures in relation to the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and instructed two ministries to take all necessary steps to prepare a proposal for measures. It also provided additional material assistance to the Palestinian civilian population affected by the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The floods that hit Slovenia in August 2023 had numerous consequences, ranging from major material damage to entirely personal losses. The worst natural disaster in the history of independent Slovenia affected almost two-thirds of the country's territory.

At the initiative of Prime Minister Robert Golob, the Government today confirmed the decision prohibiting the exporting and transit of military weapons and equipment from or through the Republic of Slovenia to Israel, and importing from Israel to Slovenia.

At today's correspondence session, the Government took note of the Information on the Issuance of Permits for the Export and Transit of Military Weapons and Equipment to Israel, which states that, due to the armed conflicts (a reason specified in indent three of paragraph three of Article 77 of the Defence Act), the Ministry of Defence has not issued any permits for the export of military weapons and equipment to Israel since October 2023.

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia is greatly concerned about the incident that took place yesterday, on 27 July 2025, at the Peršman Museum, one of the most important memorial sites for Carinthian Slovenians. Today, ahead of the final stage of the race in Mantes-la-Ville, Prime Minister Robert Golob presented Tour de France Director Christian Prudhomme with a letter of intent to organise the Grand Départ of the 2029 Tour de France in Slovenia.

At the session, the Government adopted a proposal for the Employee Ownership Cooperative Act, which enables a stable and systemically sustainable model of transferring ownership to employees, bringing positive effects for employers, employees and the economy. It also issued new amendments to the Decree on the compulsory health insurance service programme, the capacities required for its implementation and the amount of funding for services for 2025.

At the initiative of Prime Minister Robert Golob, a second meeting with representatives of the Slovenian Federation of Pensioners' Associations was held at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia yesterday adopted a decision on signing a letter of intent to organise the Tour de France Grand Départ event in Slovenia. This is an expression of Slovenia’s initiative to host one of the biggest and most watched sporting events in the world.

On 16 July 2025, the European Commission published a proposal for the Multiannual Financial Framework for the period 2028–2034, amounting to 1.26% of the EU27's GNI, or €1,985 billion. The proposal forms the basis for the start of complex negotiations among Member States

At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Starting Points for the Adoption of Measures against Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli Minister of National Security, and Bezalel Smotrich, Israeli Minister of Finance and Defense. It also approved the proposal for the Tax on Gains from the Disposal of Crypto Assets Act, the proposal for an amendment to the Tax on Gains from the Disposal of Derivative Financial Instruments Act, an amendment to the Corporate Income Tax Act, and a draft amendment to the Act on the Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters.

Despite the uncertain international situation, Slovenia is proving its reliability as a NATO partner.

The section is the most challenging part of the future expressway to the Koroška region, both in terms of construction and financing.

Today, Prime Minister Robert Golob attended a ceremony in Geneva marking the full membership of the Republic of Slovenia in the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

Following the decision of the Styrian Provincial Parliament, which at its session on 1 July 2025 approved an amendment to the law on provincial symbols enshrining the Dachsteinlied as the anthem of the Austrian province of Styria, the President of Slovenia and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia underlined that such moves – using outdated historical symbolism – undermine the harmony and productive cooperation that has been reached between the two nations and are therefore unacceptable.

At today’s session, the Government adopted the draft Healthcare Digitalisation Act, aimed at comprehensively regulating the processing of personal data in healthcare and establishing more efficient and secure data exchange. It also confirmed the draft Animal Health Act and discussed several agriculture-related laws, which will be formally adopted in the coming days through a correspondence session.

At today's session, the Government determined the breakdown of the 2026 and 2027 budget expenditure. The key priorities remain focused on the business sector and competitiveness, post-flood reconstruction, security and defence, access to housing, and the implementation of measures under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The Government adopted a draft amendment to the Spatial Management Act and discussed a draft amendment to the Labour Market Regulation Act, which is expected to be adopted by the Government in the coming days. The Government issued the Decree on setting prices for certain petroleum products, on the basis of which fuel prices on motorways will no longer be higher than elsewhere in the country. The Government also adopted a letter of intent for the construction of a cable car between Bovec and Kanin.

In his talks with European Council President António Costa yesterday, Prime Minister Golob once again called on the EU Member States to discuss the freezing of the EU-Israel Association Agreement at the upcoming European Council meeting.

At today's session, the Government adopted the proposed new amendments to the Kindergartens Act and to the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, and approved the draft Resolution on the overall long-term programme for the development and equipping of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2040. It also initiated a discussion on the proposed new amendments to the Labour Market Regulation Act, which will continue after the amendments have been discussed by the Economic and Social Council.

Today, Prime Minister Robert Golob attended the European Political Community Summit in Tirana, hosted by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. At today's session, the Government adopted a series of proposals relating to judicial legislation. It approved the new amendments to the General Administrative Procedure Act, a proposal for the Act Regulating the Financing and Promotion of the Construction of Public Rental Housing, and proposals for new amendments to the Long-Term Care Act and the Housing Act. It also initiated the procedure for drafting the 2026 and 2027 budgets.

Prime Minister Robert Golob was the main guest at the 20th Crafts and Entrepreneurship Forum where he took part in a discussion with the Director General of the Chamber of Craft and Small Business, Danijel Lamperger. Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, led by Prime Minister Robert Golob, has consistently and resolutely advocated for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, immediate access to humanitarian aid, and the establishment of a lasting solution to the conflict in the form of two states – Israel and Palestine.

At today’s session, the Government approved the proposed changes to the pension reform and was briefed on the current defence and security policy. It also adopted the draft Act on the Publication of Acts in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, the draft Act on School Inspection, the draft amendment to the Primary School Act, and issued a new flood regulation introducing the concept of flood and erosion resilience.

At today's press conference, "Public Sector in Numbers", the Minister of Public Administration, Franc Props, the Minister of Finance, Klemen Boštjančič, and the Director General of the Public Sector Directorate at the Ministry of Public Administration, Peter Pogačar, emphasised that public employees are key to the functioning of society, which is why the wage system reform ensures the proper evaluation of their work performance and a stimulating working environment.

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted an Opinion on the Proposal for a Declaration on the Preservation and Strengthening of the Autochthonous Slovenian National Minority in the Republic of Austria at a correspondence session. The Government welcomes the initiative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and supports the purpose of the Declaration, which comprehensively addresses the issue of the position and exercise of the rights of the Slovenian national minority in the Austrian regions of Carinthia and Styria.

At today’s session, the Government adopted amendments to the Animal Protection Act which, among other things, provide for the financing of care for abandoned animals, ban hen cage rearing and introduce restrictions on keeping wildlife species. At today's session, the Government adopted a proposal for the Higher Education Act, which aims to reform the higher education system. It also approved a draft Act Amending the Matura Examination Act, aligning with the expert guidelines and objectives of the public education system, as well as a draft Act Amending the Provision of Foster Care Act, designed to improve the quality of foster care provision.

Prime Minister Robert Golob attended the opening ceremony of the new Podbreznik residential neighbourhood in Novo Mesto, which will provide 186 public rental apartments. The neighbourhood was developed by the Housing Fund of the Republic of Slovenia in cooperation with the Municipality of Novo Mesto.

At today's session, the Government adopted the draft amendment to the Game and Hunting Act, the Decision establishing the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Healthcare Quality and a framework for issuing green bonds. It also decided that the new regional hospital for Gorenjska will be located in Kranj.
