EU funding for employee training approved
The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Implementation of further vocational and professional development and training programmes in 2025-2029. The European Social Fund Plus will contribute €13.4 million to this large-scale project, which totals €20 million.

Elections – The Largest Civic Operation in the Country
The National Election Commission (NEC) is intensively preparing for the parliamentary elections to be held on 22 March 2026. Key achievements of the 2022–2026 term: stabilisation and long-term structural change

192nd regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government adopted a decision to initiate the preparation of a National Spatial Plan for Krško Nuclear Power Plant – JEK2, approved a programme of development incentives for border problem areas, and took note of the preliminary report by the President of the Expert Council for the Evaluation of the Act Determining Emergency Measures to Ensure Public Security on the implementation of that Act.

EU funding approved for the integration of migrant children into the education system
The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Integration of Migrant Children, Pupils and Students into the Slovenian Education System. The project, with a total value of €7 million, will receive €2.8 million from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

Slovenia successfully reopened existing March 2036 bond via the international markets
On Monday, 16 February 2026, the Republic of Slovenia, rated A3 (positive) / AA (stable) / A+ (stable), successfully returned to international capital markets with a €750 million Reg S tap of the outstanding €1.75 billion 3.275% Note due 12 March 2036, bringing total new outstanding size to €2.50 billion.

Slovenia EUR 10Y TAP – new mandate
The Republic of Slovenia, rated A3 (positive) / AA (stable) / A+ (stable), has mandated BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Erste Group in J. P. Morgan to lead manage a tap of a bond with a maturity in March 2036. The transaction will be Regulation S in dematerialised registered form. The deal is expected to be launched in the near future, subject to market conditions.

Supporting women and girls in science is key to achieving a more humane and effective foreign policy
To mark International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Slovenian Network of Women in Diplomacy held a discussion on the role of women and girls in science and diplomacy.
