The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food today presented details on the use of the Slovenian flag on agricultural products and food introduced by the new Food Act. In a world of crowded shelves and unclear labels, the use of the Slovenian flag will mark the distinction between what is merely packaged in Slovenia and what is truly created, reared, grown and processed in Slovenia.

Prime Minister Robert Golob: The community can only be safe when it stands in solidarity
Prime Minister Robert Golob attended an event to mark International Women's Day. Organised by the Ljubljana City Committee of the Union of the Associations for the Values of the National Liberation Movement of Slovenia (ZZB NOB), the event was held under the patronage of Zoran Janković, the Mayor of Ljubljana. In his keynote address, Prime Minister Golob emphasised the importance of freedom and security — values that exemplify the challenges women have faced throughout history.

Information for citizens stranded abroad due to the situation in the Middle East
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs continues to provide consular assistance to Slovenian citizens. Those who are unable to return from otherwise safe destinations due to air traffic disruption in the Middle East are advised to seek alternative routes home with the assistance of their airline ticket providers.

Slovenian diplomatic staff safely evacuated from Iran
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has withdrawn its two diplomatic staff members from Tehran, capital of Iran. The ambassador and a diplomat are now safe in Azerbaijan, from where they will be returning to Slovenia.

Evacuation by charter flights from the Middle East is coming to an end, but the MFEA remains available to assist Slovenian citizens
We would like to inform Slovenian citizens who are currently stranded in the Middle East and the Gulf that airspace is gradually reopening. Consequently, an increasing number of commercial flights are available for those wishing to return home. However, the Ministry remains available to provide consular assistance.

With the arrival of two aircraft from Riyadh this evening, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia has completed the evacuation of Slovenian citizens who were stranded in the crisis area in the Middle East due to the ongoing war.

Prime Minister Robert Golob began the second part of the Government’s visit to the Osrednjaslovenska region with a visit to the new residential neighbourhood in Zelena jama in Ljubljana, which provides 87 public rental apartments in four buildings, along with a shared communal area and landscaped park space.

To help Slovenian citizens in the Middle East, Slovenia has arranged two extra repatriation flights with FlyDubai from the United Arab Emirates. We have now begun contacting citizens in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Agreement enables state of the art searches for Slovenian patent applicants
A new Cooperation Agreement between the Visegrad Patent Institute and the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office on Search Cooperation has been signed. The Agreement enables patent applicants in Slovenia to obtain a search report accompanied by a written opinion for national patent applications, in accordance with the standards applied under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
