EU funding for upgrading the Litija-Šmartno water supply system
The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for upgrading the Litija-Šmartno water supply system. The project will receive over €2 million from the Cohesion Fund.
The investment covers upgrading and partially renovating the existing water supply system, particularly to improve hydraulics, reduce water losses, and ensure the system’s long-term resilience. The project will upgrade the pumping station on Ljubljanska cesta Street and modernise 13,313 metres of the water distribution network. The project will improve the reliability, safety, and quality of the drinking water supply for 1,307 residents of the municipality.
The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and is cofinanced by the Cohesion Fund.
The project, worth €4,322,964.33, will receive € 816,000.00 from the Cohesion Fund. The beneficiary of the funding is the Municipality of Litija.
