Slovenia's first resident ambassador to the Philippines presents her credentials to President Marcos Jr.

In the ceremonies held at the Malacañang Palace today, Ambassador Dr Smiljana Knez presented her credentials to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

In her speech, Ambassador Knez pledged to co-operate closely with the government, business community as well as cultural and scientific community partners to advance common interests.

“I will work tirelessly and co-operate closely with the representatives of your distinguished government, business community, as well as the cultural and scientific community to our common benefit,” she said in her speech..

Slovenia and the Philippines are both advocates of rule based multilateralism and international law. And as the first resident Ambassador of Slovenia to the Philippines and serving in the first Slovenian embassy in the ASEAN region, Ambassador Knez said she was looking forward to deepening the co-operation between Slovenia and the Philippines in various areas and to strengthening people to people ties and friendship between the two countries. “I'm honored to serve in a country with which we share these fundamental values.”

In his remarks, President Marcos Jr. expresses his gratitude to Slovenia, especially to Ambassador Knez, for being the Philippines’ first Resident Ambassador of Slovenia in the Philippines.
