Prime Minister Golob congratulated Prime Minister Montenegro on the appointment of António Costa as President of the European Council and highlighted the excellent relations with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, with whom they have met on numerous occasions.

Bilateral relations and key foreign policy issues were the focus of the meeting. The two Prime Ministers focused in particular on ways of further strengthening economic, scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the war in Ukraine, developments in the Middle East, with an emphasis on the situation in Gaza, cooperation within the MED9 group and the issue of migration. Prime Minister Golob presented to Prime Minister Montenegro an initiative for Slovenia to host a future meeting of the MED9 countries, i.e. the nine EU Member States that border the Mediterranean.

The Prime Minister also met with the Mayor of Frankfurt, Mike Josef, and was inscribed in the Golden Guest Book of the City of Frankfurt.
