EU funding for a nursing assistant traineeship programme
The aim of the call for proposals is to set up measures for verified training for the profession of nursing assistant and to establish a new traineeship programme for the profession. The call for proposals establishes a model of verified training for working in the healthcare field and long-term care sector, which will improve the healthcare system in the Republic of Slovenia with a view to establishing a stable and accessible healthcare system and ensuring quality healthcare services.
The call for proposals will also include activities to improve the responsiveness of the education and training system to labour market needs. This will help to reduce the labour market deficit of the profession, increase the attractiveness of vocational education for the nursing assistant profession and ensure more efficient delivery of training.
The traineeship programme is theoretical and a practical. For the first two months, candidates will receive theoretical training of 320 hours in four accredited secondary schools. The practical part of the traineeship will take place over a period of four months with public healthcare employers where the candidates will undertake their traineeship.
The project is worth EUR 568,698.45 and will receive European Social Fund Plus contribution of EUR 357,804.36.
The call for proposals is published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia and on the website of the Ministry of Health.
