Ski jumpers to wave farewell to the season in Planica

This year the FIS Ski Jumping and Ski Flying World Cup will wrap up the season from 21 to 24 March in Planica.

Planica has been synonymous with ski jumping and flying since 25 March 1934 | Author STO

In addition to the traditional men's finals on the Gorišek brothers' ski-flying hill, the women's finals on the normal hill will take place in the valley below the Ponce Mountains. You are invited to attend an unforgettable sports event. Free shuttle buses from Kranjska Gora and the surrounding area are available for all visitors.

This year's end of the season will be particularly magical. In addition to the 90th anniversary of the first ski jumping competition in Planica, the Slovenian ski jumper and ski flyer Peter Prevc will say goodbye to a very successful ski jumping career. After 15 seasons participating in the World Cup and more than 330 competitions at the highest level, the "Slovenian Eagle", who made Slovenian ski jumping so successful, decided it was time for new adventures.

In addition to the sports spectacle, a business conference between Slovenia and Poland will take place on Thursday in Planica, which will also be attended by Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar and Polish President Andrzej Duda. On Friday, the Slovenia–Kosovo Business Forum and the Invest in Ukraine Investment Conference will follow. The organisers guarantee an engaging accompanying programme.
