During her working visit to Belgium, the President of the National Assembly, mag. Urška Klakočar Zupančič paid a visit to the President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Belgium, Ms Eliane Tillieux.

They have confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries and their parliaments, highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, and devoted time to current challenges, the consequences of the war in Ukraine, the rule of law and the promotion of human rights, tolerance and diversity. They discussed the internal political situation in both countries. They paid particular attention to the role of parliaments in addressing hate speech and gender equality through a better balance of political representation in parliaments and other public offices.

The Presidents called for further strengthening of relations between the National Assembly and the House of Representatives at the highest level.
