Prime Minister Robert Golob on his second working visit to Maribor

Prime Minister Robert Golob visited the Maribor First Grammar School today. With students he discussed the energy crisis, the war in Ukraine, energy self-supply, renewable energy sources and investments in solar panels. The discussion, for which the students were well prepared, took place in a relaxed atmosphere. After a pleasant conversation with the students, the Prime Minister signed the memorial book in the school library. He encouraged the students, "Trust in yourself and in your virtues. Then only the sky will be your limit."

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister met with the management of Dravske elektrarne Maribor, where he visited their control centre. The company’s management presented to the Prime Minister investments and projects that have the greatest potential, with a focus on renewable energy sources. After the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that energy is today the main topical issue in the whole of Europe and that Dravske elektrarne Maribor is an example of good practice: "I believe that due to the knowledge and projects of Dravske elektrarne Maribor, Maribor can once again become the capital of Slovenia’s power industry."

The discussions focused on projects for solar and wind power plants and battery storage systems. "These are all the trends of the future and there will be a lot of investment in this area in Slovenia in the next eight years," the Prime Minister stated, emphasising that Dravske elektrarne Maribor is one of the companies that systematically invests in the knowledge required.
