Prime Minister Robert Golob discusses current issues with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen

On the margins of the 17th Bled Strategic Forum, which takes place on 29 and 30 August 2022, Prime Minister Robert Golob hosted a working lunch with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who is also the keynote speaker of this year's Forum.

They exchanged views on current issues in the European Union, focusing on the current situation on the electricity market, where prices have skyrocketed in recent days.

Golob and von der Leyen discussed the key challenges of voluntary gas savings in the coming months, as well as the diversification of energy supply and the green transition.

The Prime Minister and the President also talked about the explansion of the European Union to the Western Balkans, also in the light of the changed geopolitical situation in Europe. In this context, a particular focus was on Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession process.

Today's meeting is the second bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Robert Golob and President of the European Commission following his visit to Brussels on 16 June 2022.
