State Secretary Dr Raščan noted that this is the third occasion Slovenia has provided selfless help to North Macedonia, all of which proves Slovenia’s continuous and excellent readiness to respond to natural disasters and other occurrences. He thanked everyone who fought to extinguish the fires and drew attention to the two teams of Slovenian firefighters, who represented Slovenia excellently and did an impressive job.

In the course of their work, the Slovenian firefighters found that their North Macedonian colleagues lack adequate equipment. For this reason, Slovenia is conveying today firefighting equipment in a total value of EUR 76,000, including transport, so that they will be better prepared to deal with forest fires effectively in the future.
