EU funding for Ormož business-economic zone expansion

Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Expansion of the Ormož business-economic zone. The EUR 2.22 million project will be implemented by Municipality Ormož under the Agreement on the development of the Podravje region and supported by the EU, with the contribution from the European Regional Development Fund standing at EUR 1.48 million.
As part of the project, Municipality Ormož will provide an additional 10.2 hectares of land that is equipped with proper infrastructure for the needs of the economy. Expanding the business-economic zone will result in improved conditions for the operation of small and medium-sized enterprises, and also increase their added value and create new jobs. This will boost quality economic and social development and raise the standard of living in Ormož as well as in the wider area of Slovenske gorice and Podravje.
