State Secretary Gašper Dovžan today spoke with the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Sadović, via video conference. He briefed his counterpart on the priorities of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with a special emphasis on the Western Balkans. He also updated him on the planned EU-Western Balkans Summit scheduled for October this year.

State Secretary Dovžan congratulated Deputy Secretary Sadović on his appointment as an authorised representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Annex B, expressing his wish to accelerate the implementation of the Agreement on Succession Issues.

The two high officials agreed that the two countries enjoy successful cooperation. They also discussed the urgent reforms Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to implement as part of its European perspective. They also touched on migration and other security challenges in the region. Deputy Secretary Sadović thanked Slovenia for its donation of vaccines.
