The MICHELIN Guide Main Cities of Europe 2020 is a compilation of excellent ideas for unforgettable culinary experiences in European capitals and large cities boasting restaurants with Michelin stars. This year's edition of the guide, which was first published in 1982, includes more than 1850 restaurants in 39 cities and 23 countries. One of them is Atelje in Ljubljana, which was awarded one star by Michelin inspectors. The restaurant is led by chef Jorg Zupan, about whom Michelin wrote that he "uses his extensive experience gained from working in kitchens around the world to create dishes that are simple yet refined and in a setting that is fashionable and relaxed".

Ljubljana now also has its first Bib Gourmand restaurant – Na Gradu, which, according to Michelin, is another reason to celebrate the inclusion of Slovenia's capital in the Main Cities of Europe 2020 guide.

The guide caters for every type of gastronome and recommends the best places to eat and stay across all categories of comfort and price. It also includes the restaurants in Ljubljana that received a Michelin Plate: AS, B-Restaurant, Cubo, Harfa, JB, Maxim, Monstera bistro, Separé, Shambala, Strelec, Sushimama, Valvas'or and Vander.
