From 23 to 25 October 2019, representatives of the OPSI team from the Ministry of Public Administration presented the OPSI portal and the activities related to the opening of public sector data to Montenegrin colleagues from the Ministry of Public Administration, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education, the Statistical Office, the Institute for Social and Education Policy (ISOP) and other institutions dealing with this area.

Montenegro established an open data portal one year ago. The representatives of Montenegrin institutions were interested in Slovenian experience in this area. The presentation included a description of the OPSI portal (its technical characteristics, functionalities and content), activities related to the opening of the public sector data, important documents and content, the open data ecosystem of Slovenia, collaboration with authorities that publish their data on the portal and other related activities, such as collaboration with institutions outside the public sector and various foreign institutions, and the organisation of various events that are also interesting for the public, such as hackathons.

The colleagues from Montenegro were satisfied with the presentations. They were impressed by data visualisations (e.g. the visualisation of the government budget produced by the Minister of Finance: https://proracun.gov.si/). They will include the topics and activities presented in their activities related to the opening of public sector data in Montenegro.
