Public Administration Minister Rudi Medved receives Ambassador of Montenegro to Slovenia

Slovenian Minister of Public Administration Rudi Medved received H.E. Prof. Dr. Vujica Lazović, the Ambassador of Montenegro to Slovenia. The cooperation between Slovenia and Montenegro has always been close and it will become even closer in the area of public administration with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Ljubljana next week, Minister Rudi Medved and Ambassador Lazović stressed at the meeting.

Their discussion focused on the envisaged signing of the Memorandum which will further increase the cooperation between the two ministries. The Memorandum will be signed by Public Administration Minister Rudi Meved and his Montenegrin counterpart Suzana Pribilović on the margins of the ReSPA (Regional School of Public Administration) conference on 2 October 2019 in Ljubljana.

Ambassador Lazović and Mr Medved noted with satisfaction the effective and high level of cooperation between the two ministries.

The Ambassador of Montenegro then spoke about public administration reforms in Montenegro. He explained that their aim was to make the civil servant system even more efficient and that they were looking for the best possible public administration reform model. According to him, good cooperation needs to be further developed to accelerate the digitisation of the administration, which Mr Medved noted with satisfaction.

Mr Medved informed the Ambassador of the planned reforms to the remuneration system in Slovenia and underlined that "we aim to make the system more flexible, efficient and conducive for young and professional staff to work in public administration."

Finally, they touched upon the competence model which was to be presented by the representatives of the Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration at the ReSPA Conference on 2 October 2019 in Ljubljana.
