  • The United Nations General Assembly decided to proclaim 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science to raise awareness of the importance of the full and equal participation of women in all fields of science. The aim is also to promote the elimination of discrimination and the removal of legal, economic, social and cultural barriers that continue to hinder women’s access to careers in science.

  • The construction of the new Vrazov trg Campus of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana is continuing successfully and approaching the final phase of construction works. While inspecting the progress, Minister Igor Papič and Gregor Majdič, Rector of the University of Ljubljana, discussed the construction conclusion.

  • The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, in cooperation with public research organizations in Slovenia, has produced a scientific diplomacy factsheet, entitled “Slovenia's Research & Innovation landscape”, which contributes to the presentation, promotion, and opening up of Slovenia's scientific research and innovation landscape to the international community.

  • Slovenian flag flown in front of CERN

    In front of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, CERN's guard of honour raised the Slovenian flag in the presence of Slovenian political leaders, CERN management and invited guests. The ceremony was dedicated to Slovenia's full membership in one of the most prestigious international organisations in the world.
