The newly established Directorate’s aim is to create informed and inclusive cultural development policies supported by expertise. These policies should operate democratically and transparently for the benefit of the public, ensure accessibility to cultural goods, create conditions for the effective use of public finances and pursue the public interest in culture. They will introduce modern models of cultural governance in harmony with sustainable green development, social and intergenerational solidarity and gender equality. The new Directorate’s fundamental purpose is to create hubs for a structural dialogue with stakeholders within and beyond the cultural arena.
