Public health protection is one of the most important social tasks. Through their food safety policy, the European Union and Slovenia are working hard to provide the population with the most safe food that is not harmful to our health and is suitable for consumption. Food safety is ensured throughout the "agri-food chain", i.e. at every stage from food production and processing to the distribution to consumers. This is the "farm to fork" principle, also known as "stable to table".
