Born 4 March 1970
He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Maribor, where he acquired in-depth knowledge in the fields of business economics, commercial law, management, finance, financial operations and other related fields.
In his professional career he has held several management positions at leading Slovenian companies such as Mercator, Petrol, and Semenarna Ljubljana. He also gained working and professional experience at foreign companies with branches in Slovenia.
From 1 January 2018 to his appointment to the Ministry of Health he managed the country’s largest healthcare institution, the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana, where he was responsible for work organisation, the institution’s operating and financial plans, fundamental business policies, and rehabilitation programme, and participated in negotiations with various stakeholders.
He communicates fluently in English, Croatian, Serbian and German. He likes to spend his available free time outdoors, and enjoys sports. He also loves to read, particularly historical novels and biographies.
