State Secretary responsible for forestry and hunting
Dr Darij Krajčič

Darij Krajčič was born on 18 January 1965 in Murska Sobota. He attended primary and general upper secondary school in Maribor and studied at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana. There he also obtained his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in forestry.

He started his career as a trainee at Gozdno gospodarstvo Nazarje, and later worked in managerial positions. At the Biotechnical Faculty, he was a teaching assistant and assistant professor in forest policy, economics and entrepreneurship. He was the head of the Forestry Association at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Director of the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, Director-General of the Environment Directorate at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, a researcher at the Slovenian Forestry Institute, and a deputy of the National Assembly. Prior to becoming State Secretary, he was the head of the Nazarje Regional Unit of the Slovenia Forest Service. He lives in Mozirje.
