Dear Madam or Sir,
- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD) have published the fourth National Human Development Report - Slovenia 2002/2003.

The Report is the work of a team that has analysed crucial areas of human development in Slovenia. This fourth edition of the Report for Slovenia is devoted to human health and its (socio-economic) determinants. The Report consists of two parts. The first one defines and places human development in a wider context and shows the implications of macroeconomic determinants for human development. The second part analyses one aspect of human development - health of Slovenia's population and its socio-economic determinants.

The Report aims to present a number of (macro)economic implications for the quality of living in Slovenia. It is primarily intended for policy-makers as well as everyone interested in these issues.

This Human Development Report has been prepared specially for you. We would be grateful for any comments, remarks, criticism and ideas which would help us improve the quality of the reports. You can send your ideas to . With your approval, we will publish your comments on the IMAD's Internet page.
