Office for International Cooperation and International Legal Assistance

The Office for International Cooperation and International Legal Assistance plans, coordinates and implements the tasks of the Ministry in the area of EU affairs and international cooperation. It fulfils the obligations arising from the membership of the Republic of Slovenia in the EU and the Council of Europe and participates in the transposition of EU legislation into the national legal order.

It also participates in numerous other international organisations: the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Organisation (UNO), the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), and the International Criminal Court (ICC). The Office’s activities include bilateral cooperation, maintenance of regular bilateral contacts and performance of other tasks within the remit of the Office.
